Fresh Tunes

So one of the things I recently got for my birthday was a $30 iTunes gift cert. This is kind of awesome, because I haven't really bought any new music for quite a while, and I had been meaning to expand my collection a bit to bring in some fresh, new music.

Unfortunately, finding good music is easier said than done, and it's taken me quite a while to come up with some albums that I actually want to get.

I managed to stumble across a King Kooba album I didn't have, "Indian Summer", and I've been fairly pleased with the music contained within. I also managed to stumble across an Underworld album that had somehow eluded my previous collecting rampages, "A Hundred Days Off". As luck would have it, it contained one of my favourite songs, which is featured in the video embedded below.

I've still got $14 left to burn through, so the search continues...

The day the music lived

No, I didn't get new headphones (yet), but I did get a really spiffin' pair of blue drumsticks from Tyler and Angela for all my rockband drumming exploits.

Of course I don't actually have rockband here, so I'll need to wait until I'm back down in California before I can give them a proper workout, but I can enjoy drumming on a pillow in the mean time.

The day the music died

My headphones started coming unglued today. They're just the free ones that came with my iPod shuffle, and they began suffering the common ailment wherein the little rubberized rim around the ear buds starts to randomly peel off.

It's not a big loss, but all the same I do need headphones. I guess it's a good thing I put those Shure SE-115 headphones on my birthday wishlist so some kind soul could buy them for me in but a few weeks time.

They're holding together for the moment, but won't be lasting much longer.
