Waste Not, Water Not

So my irrigation system was doing a bit too good of a job keeping the ground wet near the manifold at the front of the house.

A small drip at the elbow after the filter was easy enough to spot, but wasn't leaking enough to be to blame for all the moisture I was seeing.

A little bit of digging uncovered another joint that had a leak, and seemed to account for the rest of the excess moistness.

So it's time for the PVC fitting reamer to come to the rescue again.

This little tool is one of the best investments I've made. With it, I can cut a pipe off near the fitting, ream it out, and glue a new pipe in. This is way easier than having to cut back far enough to find a spot where I can bodge in a coupling.

Though it does throw plastic shreds all over the place, which is a bit of a downside.

But it gets the job done, which is the important part.

Admittedly it doesn't look much different right now, but it will dry out soon here as, according to the dorito of truth on my water meter, I no longer have any leaks.
